LEE CLARK welcomed the 2-0 win over Oldham which strengthened Town’s position in the League I play-off zone, but admitted: “That was one of our worst home performances of the season.”

Theo Robinson’s double, in the 38th minute then in the third minute of stoppage time at the end, settled a trans-Pennine derby in which Latics defender Kieran Lee was sent off (76th minute) and put Town three points clear in the final play-off place with six games remaining.

The first is away to Brentford on Saturday, and boss Clark, who has a worry over Anthony Pilkington (ankle), wants a far more fluent performance.

“It’s all about winning, and I’m delighted by that, but I’ll also let the players know that type of performance isn’t good enough,” added Clark, whose reserves are in Galpharm action against Lincoln tonight (7.00).

“The scoreline can’t be allowed to paper over the cracks and in all honesty, Oldham can count themselves unlucky because they were probably the better team.”

Town have extended the loans of Tom Denton (Wakefield) and Lewis Nightingale (Salford).
