Chris Powell has challenged Town to put the brakes on Jordan Rhodes and the rest of the Blackburn Rovers side as they chase a third
straight Championship win at Ewood Park.

Former favourite Rhodes makes his 100th league appearance for the Lancashire club aiming to add to a tally of five goals in four games against his old employers.

Town, up to 18th in the table, are looking to build on wins over Millwall and Wolves in the Roses derby.

"Jordan is a wonderful player, and rightly revered at out club," said Powell, who watched Rovers in action at Rotherham United on Tuesday,
when they lost 2-0.

"You can see why there was Premier League interest in him during the last transfer window, and he is the kind of player who really tests concentration levels.

"Over at Rotherham, he had a really good chance out of virtually nothing, and we have to be alert, not just to Jordan, but to the whole
Blackburn side.

"They have some very good players and some very creative players, and I expect a response from them after Rotherham."

Conceding a goal was the only downside of the Wolves game for Powell, who added: "Clean sheets are so important, and keeping one is a big
target for us.

"We have shown we have the firepower and the creativity. By keeping clean sheets, we guarantee at least one point and give ourselves a
great chance of three."

Skipper Lee Peltier remains a doubt because of a calf problem.
