Sean Scannell says Huddersfield Town are ready to put things right when they return to London tonight after losing 3-0 at Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

They head to the West of the capital to face a Brentford side who are seventh and pushing for the Championship play-offs.

Chris Powell’s Town slipped to 14th after their disappointing defeat at The Valley and wideman Scannell admitted: “We played poorly.

“It was a bad day at the office, but you get that from time to time.

“The important thing is how we respond.

“It’s hard to put your finger on what happened on Saturday. Once we conceded, we were chasing the game.

“They ran at us and we couldn’t cope, so we have to learn from it and improve against Brentford.”

The Bees were beaten 1-0 at Birmingham City on Saturday, but they had won their previous two, at home to Bournemouth and against Blackpool.

“It will be another tough game but we had been on a decent run away from home before Charlton and now we must get back on track,” added Scannell.

Town were 2-1 home winners over Brentford in December and are seeking a third double after Millwall and Reading.

“We know what we are capable of,” said Scannell.

“Anyone can beat anyone in this league. There is nothing to fear but we have to raise our game.”

Manager Powell says Town will again be without centre-back Joel Lynch (groin) while 12-goal top scorer Nahki Wells (shoulder) will have a fitness test.

“Saturday was disappointing, but there’s another game right around the corner,” said Powell.

“It’s a chance to bounce back quickly and we are focused on doing just that.”
