ANTON ROBINSON says Town have more than enough strong characters in their squad to bounce back from their dismal FA Cup first-round exit at Swindon.

Lee Clark’s promotion-chasing side, beaten 4-1 by Paolo Di Canio’s impressive League II team, aim to create a new Football League record of 43 matches unbeaten when they host Notts County in League I on Saturday.

And Robinson, one of seven changes made by the manager, insisted: “We’re very disappointed at this result but we will keep our heads up and go again.”

Town led through Lee Novak but then conceded goals to Aden Flint, Raffaele De Vita, Mehdi Kerrouche and Simon Ferry.

“We started well and created a few chances, but conceded two silly goals before half-time,” said Robinson.

“We chased the game in the second half but got done on the counter-attack, and the third was a sucker blow.”

Boss Clark said: “The league is the priority, but I wanted to get to at least the third round of the FA Cup and get a big gun at the Galpharm.”
