Huddersfield Town will head to Fugen in Austria for a week-long training camp at the end of July.

It’s envisaged that David Wagner’s side will play two friendlies while in Tyrol in the West of the country.

The squad will fly out from Manchester on Saturday, July 23, three days after taking on Liverpool in a plum friendly, and return on July 30.

The new English Football League season starts on Saturday, August 6 with fixtures to be released on Wednesday, June 22.

Town’s players report back on Friday, June 24, when they head to Sweden for a five-day team-bonding trip.

The first friendly is at National League Guiseley on Wednesday, July 6 (7.45).

Town go to League I Oldham Athletic on Saturday, July 16 (3.00).

Then comes the plum home pre-season clash with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool on Wednesday, July 20 (7.45).

Wagner, preparing for his first pre-season at the Town helm, was a regular summer to Austria as coach of Borussia Dortmund II.

“It’s a great environment in which to work, and the climate is very good for training at this time of the year,” he explained.

“Then we will return to England and readjust to the climate and conditions here in time for the start of the season.”
