Huddersfield Town have drawn fellow Championship outfit Nottingham Forest in the second round of the Capital One Cup.
The reward for the Terriers' thrilling 5-3 comeback win after extra time at Chesterfield on Tuesday night is to take on Stuart Pearce's Forest side after they battled to a 1-0 win with 10 men at Tranmere Rovers.
It is the first time the two teams have met in this competition since the 1989/1990 campaign, when the competition was known as the Littlewoods Challenge Cup, with Forest prevailing on away goals after a 4-4 draw over two legs.
Town's two meetings with Forest last season both ended in defeat, including a 1-0 opening-day loss and a 3-0 home reverse, and will hope to gain their revenge in their second-round tie, which is to be played in the week commencing August 25.
Radoslaw Majewski - on loan from Forest - is not expected to be able to play under the terms of his season-long deal, while the meeting will also provide a trip down memory lane for Town central defenders Joel Lynch and Lee Peltier, with the latter a City Ground player as recently as last season.
Lynch was snapped up by Town from Forest in 2012 after some four years - factoring in a loan spell - in the east Midlands, with former Terriers boss Simon Grayson swooping for the stopper on a free transfer.
The cup clash with Forest is sandwiched in between the home league game against Charlton Athletic on August 23 and the trip to early high-flyers Watford a week later.
Town host Forest in the Championship on November 1 before visiting the City Ground on April 11.
The other eye-catching draws for the second round include a west London derby between Brentford and Fulham, Bradford City hosting west Yorkshire neighbours Leeds United and Manchester United travelling to MK Dons in their first match at this stage of the competition since 1995.
