SCOTTISH wingers Ryan Fraser and Chris Burke are on Huddersfield Town’s list of potential transfer targets.

But the John Smith’s Stadium side, who look set to loan frontman Kallum Higginbotham to Motherwell, are unlikely to pursue Shrewsbury striker Marvin Morgan.

Town are one of a number of clubs to be linked with the powerful Mancunian who made his name at Aldershot, but sources suggest a bid is unlikely.

While talks are ongoing over Higginbotham, who was signed from Falkirk a year ago but has failed to stake a claim at Town, boss Simon Grayson faces plenty of competition if he is to land either Aberdeen’s rising 18-year-old star Fraser or Burke, who is due to visit the John Smith’s with Birmingham City this Saturday.

Scotland Under 19 cap Fraser is out of contract at the end of the season and has turned down a new three-year deal at Aberdeen.

He came through the Pittodrie youth system, making his first-team debut in October 2010, and has been a regular in the Scottish Premier League this season.

While they will be entitled to a £250,000 payment if he leaves at the end of the season, Aberdeen know they will make more by selling Fraser this month.

Birmingham, bossed by former Town chief Lee Clark, are in dire straits financially and need to sell players to stave off administration.

Like Fraser, 29-year-old Burke is out of contract this summer, having signed from Cardiff during the 2011 close-season.

A Glasgow-born Scotland international, he is a Rangers youth product who made 131 appearances for the Ibrox club before joining Cardiff in 2009.

In the market for a right-sided wideman, Town could yet opt to extend the loan of Adam Hammill, whose initial spell from Wolves ends after Saturday’s game.

Hammill was ineligible for Saturday’s FA Cup third-round tie at Charlton.
