Ian Holloway has angered Huddersfield Town fans with his Championship predictions for the upcoming season.
The former Blackpool boss believes David Wagner’s side will drop into the third tier of English football, with only Rotherham performing worse than Town.
Holloway, who achieved promotion to the Premier League with both Blackpool and Crystal Palace, claims he saw “no progression from the club during the back end of last season” and has tipped Town to be relegated alongside the Millers, Brentford and Burton Albion.

The Sky pundits’ predictions have annoyed many Town fans, with some questioning the three-time relegated manager’s credentials as an ‘expert’.

Some supporters thought he had an axe to grind:
Michael Thornton: “Shut up Holloway, still got an axe to grind from us beating your Palace side 1-0 at our place in January 2013 and some bust up in the tunnel!”
Andrew Bowman Owen: “He’s always had an axe to grind with us since we nicked Marcus Stewart off Bristol rovers when he was manager.”
Some disputed his claims:
Stephen Senior: “I seem to remember Brighton were tipped to struggle/go down....and look what happened there.”
Darren Wormald: “For me its about us scoring goals. We will create a lot of chances and have possesion but we need to up the ante from last season with regards goals scored.”
Moorlander: “It will only take two things to prove him wrong, a tighter defence than last season and reliable goal scorers. The early signs are encouraging in respect of the former, but the jury is out on the latter.”
Underdog: “Why is everyone getting so offended. This is the Championship, anyone can go down from it, nothing wrong with his prediction, could be bang on or could be miles out – only time you will know is next May.”
Some were more pessimistic:
