We've got Wolves down here at the John Smith’s Stadium tomorrow night – and what a cracking match it promises to be.

Our boss, Chris Powell, says that all weeks like this one with three matches are pivotal to the campaign, and he’s absolutely right.

Pick up six or seven points from the three matches and you are doing fine.

After losing on our last home appearance, the lads will be doubly determined to do well against Wolves, especially as we’ve got leaders Bournemouth away next Saturday.

Wolves are going well themselves after winning promotion last season, and not many of our fans will probably know this, but I almost once signed for Wolves.

It was while I was at Sheffield Wednesday and the two clubs agreed a fee for me to go to Molineux.

I remember travelling down there to meet with Wolves and I spoke to John Ward, who was a lovely man and their assistant manager at the time.

It was also Jez Moxey’s first day as the chief executive down there, as far as I can remember, and it ended up with Wolves offering me less than I was on at Sheffield Wednesday.

Obviously I declined the offer and, while they later rang back and offered more, it was too late.

Funnily enough, we played Wolves the following season and it had been put out that I’d turned down more money to go to the club when, in fact, it was the complete opposite.

Of course I got a load of stick about being greedy, and the song was repeated after I returned to Town and we again came up against Wolves.

That’s all in the past now, of course, and I just hope we have a great game tomorrow night following our win against them earlier in the season at Molineux, and hopefully we can make it a double.
