Huddersfield Town fans will have to make plenty of noise from their traditional seating areas when Derby County visit the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday.

Derby have already sold more than 3,500 tickets for the match – and could well sell their full allocation of 3,384 before the weekend – especially if they win at Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night.

Town have so far enjoyed vociferous support from the South Stand as home supporters have been allowed into a section in an effort to improve the home atmosphere.

That won’t be possible on Saturday, when season-card holders in that part of the stadium have already been asked to relocate.

It will be the same when Middlesbrough visit on Saturday, November 28, while a decision has still to be made over the Leeds United match, when the visitors are taking just 2,000 seats in the South Stand (Massimo Cellino is protesting about the number of times Leeds United are on live TV).

Derby were initially allocated 2,126 seats for this coming Saturday, but those sold strongly and a further issue of tickets was made.

Fewer than 300 of those now remain, meaning Paul Clement’s side will have big backing in West Yorkshire.
