Huddersfield Town will know how a busy first week of the 2015-16 season will shape up by 9am on Wednesday.

That’s when the Football League fixtures are released, and the big moment comes 24 hours after the Capital One Cup draw is revealed at 10am on Tuesday.

The new season will get under way on Saturday, August 8, with the League Cup ties that midweek.

Town will be clearly be hoping things are more stable than at the start of last season.

An 4-0 opening-day defeat at home to Bournemouth was followed by the departure of manager Mark Robins.

Mark Lillis took caretaker charge as Town won 5-3 after extra time in their Capital One Cup first round game at Chesterfield, where Nahki Wells bagged a hat trick.

But he couldn’t conjure a win in the next league fixture at Cardiff City, who won 3-1.

The Cardiff side that day included centre-back Mark Hudson, now Town’s captain as manager Chris Powell prepares for his first pre-season at the club.

New to this season’s Championship will be relegated trio Burnley, Hull City and Queens Park Rangers and promoted sides Bristol City, MK Dons and Preston North End.

Town are among the 36 seeded sides in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

That means they will face opposition from Leagues I or II.

All 72 Football League clubs for 2015-16 will feature in the first round, which is regionalised.
