Huddersfield Town supporters are hoping the club sign Emyr Huws permanently and Chris Powell’s side can build positively on seven points from nine when they next appear on Sky TV.

That’s against Wolves on Saturday lunchtime, October 3, when fans would love to see a repeat of last season’s 3-1 win at Molineux.

Spirits have soared on the back of wins against Charlton and Bolton, followed by the 1-1 home draw against Nottingham Forest in which Wigan Athletic loan man Huws grabbed his fourth goal in three games.

Keen fan Chief, of Shelley, explained of the Forest game: “A bright opening spell with no reward.

“Deserved something from the game but few clear cut chances.

“Desperate for another quality goalscorer – can’t expect Huws to score every game!

“Seven points from nine a good return, so let’s hope we have the confidence and momentum to pick up some more points in two tricky away games on the horizon!”

Derek, from the Colne Valley, added: “Great, gritty, never-say-die performance by Town.

“Good workrate from Dean Whitehead in midfield, a real captain’s performance, and must mention Miller, who ran his socks off again.

“We must ring Wigan next week and sign up the outstanding Huws. This lad has a great workrate and an eye for goal.”

Porkpie Mick, from Golcar, said: “Thought Town were good in spells.

“Defence is a lot safer without Smith. Wells can only play with that big lad from Bradford next to him and Huws needs signing.”

Chris Green, from Dalton, agreed saying: "Another game, another goal for the Welsh magician Emyr Huws (aka the 'new' Buttterfield).

"He's been a shining star for us lately, and I just hope Dean Hoyle is seriously considering negotiating a permanent deal with his parent club Wigan Athletic, because losing a player of his aptitude would hit us like a ton of bricks."

Danny, based in Outlane, explained: “Not the best game I’ve been to, but can’t fault Town effort.

“Forest are a decent team; wasn’t same energy about the game but a good break now to recharge batteries for Wolves.”

Andy, from Liversedge, nominated his best players from the clash.

“Whitehead was man of the match, with Cranie not far behind and Huws played well,” he said.

“Miller was infective and Lolley should have been on 15 minutes sooner for Scannell.”

Mirfield-based Craig said: “Good first 20 minutes then seemed to struggle after they scored.

“Did okay second half but we need to do more with the ball in the final third and have more shots on goal.

“Defence still weak against the counter attack when Town are pushing forward.”

Paul, from Romford, summed things up.

“Good for first 20 minutes, but never really on top after that.

“Defence does not miss Hudson – Cranie the top man and Ward looks to be an excellent addition. Davidson okay but not as effective going forward as I would hope.

“Very poor chance-creation rate though – Miller had little service and won little anyway.

“Liked Carayol, but we looked more potent when Bunn and Lolley were out wide. Lolley looks keen, skilful and to have more ideas – needs a start or at least 30 minutes to give him a real chance.

“Get Carayol fit and sharpen Davidson’s wing play and we could be getting somewhere.”
