Ollie Norwood is looking for another sweet strike with the ‘mango’ ball used in FA Cup matches.

Like his Town teammates, the midfielder, who was on target from a free-kick during the 3-2 third-round win at Grimsby, has been working out with the Nike Incyte during training at PPG Canalside this week.

Nike claim that a high-elasticity layer on the surface of the ball, which some say is more pink than mango, helps it travel faster and makes controlling it easier.

Norwood said: “It does feel different to the Mitre balls we use in the Championship, and it’s been good to get the feel of it again this week, because it means we’re still in the cup!

“It’s a great competition. As a kid you watch it and you want to play in a cup final.

“We’re not getting carried away, but we want to get through today’s game and go as far as we can.

“It was a proper cup-tie over at Grimsby in the third round, and really enjoyable to play in, and hopefully it will be the same today.”

The winners of the Town v Charlton tie will be No4 in Sunday’s fifth-round draw.

It will be live on ITV at 5.35pm.

The pairings will be made by Spurs and England winger Andros Townsend and dad Troy, a mentoring and Project Leadership Manager for football’s equality and inclusion campaign Kick It Out.
