Academy goalkeeper Ed Wilczynski has returned to Bishop Auckland on loan for the rest of the season– effectively ending his Huddersfield Town career.

The 21-year-old, who has made six starts this season for Town Under 21s, has been told his John Smith’s Stadium contract will not be renewed at the end of this season.

Town’s Head of Goalkeeping Nick Colgan explained: “Ed knows that his contract at Huddersfield Town will not be extended at the end of the season, so this gives him a chance to showcase his ability and secure another club.

“Ed is a great person and has worked very hard, day in and day out, during his time under me.

“He needs this fresh challenge to kick-start and hopefully progress his career.

“On behalf of the club, I’d like to wish him all the best for the future.”
