Chris Powell hopes to have Harry Bunn back for Huddersfield Town’s trip to Birmingham City on Saturday and Nahki Wells for Tuesday’s home clash with Norwich City.

His two top scorers missed last Saturday’s hugely disappointing 2-0 home Championship defeat by Rotherham United.

A shoulder problem means Wells, who tops the club chart with 12 goals, has missed the last three games, all of which his side have lost.

Nine-goal Bunn was ruled out of the Rotherham game with a hamstring niggle.

“We’re hopeful on Harry, but while Nahki has been training, he has been limited in terms of contact work,” explained the manager.

“We’ll have a good look at both of them, but at this stage, Tuesday looks more a more realistic target for Nahki.

“Any side would miss their two top scorers, but I don’t want to make excuses for our performance against Rotherham.

“Whatever the personnel or the for formation, you have to apply yourselves, and that didn’t happen last Saturday.

“I have been pleased with the response the players have shown in training, now they have to respond out on the pitch.

“I’m looking for motivation and concentration and for us to be doing the right things more often than not.”

Town go into the game in 17th place, three places and four points behind Birmingham.
