AS TOWN prepare for their big Championship showdown at Leeds on Saturday, the club’s ladies team tomorrow aim to set up the same derby in the final of the West Riding FA Women’s County Cup.

With Leeds already through to the final after beating Leeds City Vixens 4-0, Town take on Castleford White Rose in the semi at the West Riding’s Woodlesford headquarters (7.30).

Town’s Northern Women’s Combination clash at Liverpool Feds on Sunday was postponed because of waterlogging. They head to Middlesbrough this Sunday (2.00).

The reserves face Brayton Belles as Grange Moor on Sunday (2.00). Their West Riding Women’s League Division II clash at Pool on Sunday also fell victim to the wet weather.

Grange Moor is also the venue for the Under 18s’ Sheffield and Hallamshire Girls’ League game against Sheffield United Community Ladies (White) on Saturday (10.30).

The Under 15s will seek a sixth straight win at home to Doncaster Belles, also on Saturday (10.30) after a 7-1 win at Aston Swallownest.

Katie Lockwood scored a hat trick, Jess Holland got two and Sian Lewis and Emily Morris the others as Town went second.

The Under 13s’ decision to reverse their game against Crosspool and avoid a fourth successive call-off paid dividends when they went to Sheffield and won 8-2.

Town started brightly and scored two goals in the first six minutes, through Amy Broomhead and Ella Harris.

Crosspool pulled one back after 15 minutes when a cross from the left was met close in on goal for an easy finish.

Five minutes later the scores were level when captain Laura Walker’s headed clearance was met on the edge of the area with an unstoppable strike.

Town regained the lead two minutes later when Broomhead grabbed her second with another neat finish.

The second half was a more straightforward affair for Town and player of the match Claudia Smith-Calvert hit a screamer in the first minute to give a two-goal cushion.

Imogen Pow struck in the 50th minute and this was followed by good finishes from Kacey Buckley, Tara Duce (direct from a corner) and Broomhead, to complete her hat trick.

Victory was a boost ahead of Saturday’s League Cup final clash with Doncaster Belles at Dronfield Town (10.00).
