TOWN Ladies went down 1-0 to North-East Regional Women’s League leaders Barnsley.

The South Yorkshire side, who have won all four of their games, scored in the 11th minute.

Town, whose player of the match was Andrea Haigh, looked stronger in the second half, but were unable to beat the visiting keeper.

Town have no fixture this weekend.

The Under 17s made it four wins running in the West Riding Girls League with an 8-0 romp at Garforth Villa.

Rebecca Blaeford scored a second-half hat trick.

Charlotte Thomas got the only goal of the first half before Town fully got into their rhythm.

Four of Town’s goals came from Emily Cook corners, Thomas adding another, Cook getting one herself, Emma Taylor adding to the tally and the other an own goal.

Next up are Howden Clough at Grange Moor on Sunday (10.30).

The Under 15s came from behind to beat Bradford City 4-1 in their West Riding Girls League game at Apperley Bridge after Alice Linsell netted the equaliser from the edge of the box.

Georgia Cooke quickly put Town ahead, controlling a Lucy Ellis cross and, just before half-time, player of the match Linsell added her second to put Town 3-1 ahead.

It wasn’t until the last five minutes that Town extended their lead, Ellis firing into the top corner.

Brighouse are the opponents at Grange Moor tomorrow (10.30).

Middlewood Rovers proved too strong for the Under 13s, who went down 10-3 in their Sheffield and Hallamshire League clash.

Town were 3-0 up after 15 minutes with two goals from Katie Lockwood and another from Amy Thompson.

But Middlewood, unbeaten for two seasons, powered back to win.

Sprotbrough and Cusworth Crusaders visit Grange Moor tomorrow (10.30).
