Huddersfield Town Ladies are set for a cup-final showdown with FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division rivals Sheffield FC.

The Sheffield & Hallamshire FA Women’s Cup showpiece clash will be at a yet-to-be-confirmed venue on April 5 after Town beat Steel City Wanderers 8-2 and Sheffield defeated Wakefield FC 10-1.

Alarna Fuller set the tone for Town with an early drive which crashed against the bar.

Beth Smith did better in the fifth minute, when she scored with another shot from distance.

Debbie Hastings headed home from Kate Mallin’s cross, then Fuller fired in from outside the area.

Mallin played in Emily Heckler to make it four in the 32nd minute, but Steel City pulled one back five minutes later.

The four-goal cushion was restored early in the second half when Katie Lockwood played Mallin through on goal.

A spell of pressure brought a second for Steel City.

But Camille Clarke struck a sweet sixth in the 67th minute before Hastings completed her hat trick, both goals being created by Mallin.

The Under 15s claimed an emphatic 12-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday on their return to Sheffield & Hallamshire Girls League action after a spell of inactivity due to postponements.

Wednesday began brightly, but Town took the lead on seven minutes when Ella Harris’ strong run and cross found Amy Broomhead, who made no mistake from six yards.

Five minutes later and the lead was doubled as Broomhead’s shot hit the bar and was collected by Harris, who picked out Lauren Bullock to score.

The goal of the game came on 17 minutes Tara Duce rifled an unstoppable shot into the top corner from the edge of the area.

Rose Priestley extended the lead then Harris controlled Laura Walker’s through ball and finished neatly.

Harris converted Eleanor Smith’s cross to make it six by the break.

In the second half, Harris completed her fourth hat trick of the season, and there were further goals for Bullock, Broomhead and Priestley, one for Ellie Womersley and a penalty by keeper Isobel Pare, her first goal in Town colours.

This was also a fifth successive clean sheet for Pare.

Town took the lead in the fifth minute when player of the match Alicia Marriott took her chance well.

Macy Ellis finished from close range after 25 minutes, and Olivia Burgin made it three from distance.

Goals in quick succession from Marriott and Brodie Haigh made it five at the break.

Town needed defenders Gwen Hughes and Jemima Wood to be alert to snuff out a string of Beighton attacks.

But Town hit back and Macy Ellis hit the woodwork before Marriott set up Haigh for the final goal.
