TOWN Ladies are through to the semi-finals of the North-East Regional Women’s League Cup after a 7-0 home win over Wakefield Reserves.
Kate Mallin hit the bar, with Raegan Cartledge unable to convert from the rebound, before skipper Emily Heckler opened the scoring then added a second with a 13th-minute header from Mallin’s cross.
Mallin notched after a mazy run in the 35th minute while Emma Poole made it 4-0 at the break with a long-range strike.
Heckler struck her third on 58 minutes, again following a cross from Mallin, then put Town five to the good when Aleathia Smith’s header put her through.
Heckler got her fifth in the 66th minute but it was midfielder Mallin who was named player of the match for Town, who have a league game at St Francis of Hartlepool on Sunday (2.00).
Shameeka Fishley chalked up a classy hat trick and Shauna Messenger scored twice as the Under 17s beat Garforth Villa 6-2 in their West Riding Girls League clash.
Rebecca Blaeford got the other goal for Town, who face Thornes Juniors at Grange Moor on Sunday (11.00).
The Under 15s were 5-3 winners in their WR League game at South Leeds City but made tough work of it after going two up through midfielder Georgia Hamilton.
Alice Linsell went on the complete a hat trick for Town, who take on Cestria Girls at Grange Moor on Saturday (10.30).
It’s the same day, time and venue for the Under 13s, who meet Middlewood Rovers in a Sheffield and Hallamshire League game.
