TOWN took two Football League awards at the annual gala dinner in London.

They were named League I Family Club of the Year, beating off competition from MK Dons and Swindon.

And the Galpharm club also won the divisional prize for best programme.

Town were highly commended in the Football League Trust Best Community Project category for their cheerleaders.

The awards follow goalkeeper Alex Smithies’ success in landing the Football League Young Player of the Month prize.

The latest awards were made at London’s Grosvenor House hotel.

The player of the year awards went to Newcastle’s Kevin Nolan in the Championship, Leeds’ Jermaine Beckford in League I and Rochdale’s Craig Dawson in League II.
