Huddersfield Town are keen on 1860 Munich centre-back Christopher Schindler, according to reports in Germany.

The rumours come amid interest from Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers in Joel Lynch.

The London club have had a bid for the Wales international rejected.

Town's German head coach David Wagner has already gone back to his homeland to recruit centre-back Michael Hefele and left-back Chris Lowe for the new campaign.

And it seems Schindler, 26 and 1860’s skipper in the 2 Bundesliga, is of interest.

Born in Munich, he was capped four times by Germany at Under 21 level and progressed through his club’s second team.

Schindler is contracted until 2019, having signed a new deal a year ago, so a fee would be involved.

Wagner has also brought in keeper Joel Coleman from Oldham Athletic, Croatian midfielder Ivan Paurevic from Russian club FC Ufa and forward Rajiv van La Parra, who was on loan at Town last season, from Wolves.
