Kidderminster striker Joe Lolley could be on his way to Huddersfield Town – if Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson is to be believed.

Lolley, 21, who has fired in seven goals in 25 appearances for the Conference club, has been at the centre of speculation in recent days.

Lolley has been linked with Peterborough, who the Harriers face in an FA Cup third-round replay on Tuesday.

But Ferguson claimed he had missed out and Lolley is instead heading to Town, adding: “Joe Lolley’s agent wouldn’t even let him come to see us.

“I did speak to him after we played against Kidderminster, but a Championship club has now come in for him and it looks like he’s heading there.”

A move would continue a rapid rise up the football pyramid for Lolley, who notched 88 goals in 83 appearances for Midlands minnows Littleton.

Born in Redditch, Lolley signed a one-year deal at Kidderninster during the close-season, having represented Britain at the World University Games in Russia.

Town manager Mark Robins saw him first hand when Kidderminster played at Grimsby before Christmas.

We asked Town fans who they wanted to sign during the transfer window - see below for a gallery of their targets.
