Huddersfield Town have loaned Matt Crooks to League Two club Accrington Stanley until January 3 inclusive.
The versatile 20-year-old has just returned from a stint at Hartlepool United, making three appearances.
Crooks, who will wear the number 33 shirt during his stay at the Store First Stadium, has played one game for Town, the 4-0 Championship defeat by AFC Bournemouth on the opening day of this season.
He will hope for an Accrington debut at home to Cambridge United on Saturday.
The Crown Ground club, where former Town coach Paul Stephenson is assistant to manager John Coleman, are 15th in the fourth tier.
Their squad includes former Town Juniors player Josh Windass.
On the move, Terriers manager Powell said: "Matt is at an important stage of his development where he needs to play regular senior football and I’m delighted that he gets the opportunity to do this at Accrington, following on so closely from his recent spell at Hartlepool.
"We’ll monitor Matt’s progression very closely during his time away from the club."
Crooks was delighted to get the chance to experiencing more first-team football and is looking forward to getting going under Coleman.
He told the Accrington club website: "My loan at Hartlepool finished on Monday and I trained at Huddersfield on Tuesday before getting the call that evening to say that if I wanted to come here I could and I jumped at the chance.
"I’ve learned a lot in my previous loan spell. It’s not something I’ve really experienced before having just played under 21’s games for Huddersfield and first team matches when I’ve got the chance so I’ve taken a lot from that month and hopefully I can put that to good use here."
