Chris Powell hopes Nahki Wells, Sean Scannell and Conor Coady will all be available for Saturday’s Championship clash at Charlton Athletic.

Huddersfield Town’s top scorer Wells, who took his goal tally to 12 in Tuesday’s 3-0 home win over Reading, is nursing a shoulder injury.

Wideman Scannell missed the game with a hamstring niggle while midfielder Coady was ruled out through illness.

Wells took a whack from Adam Federici, but manager Powell pinned no blame on the Australian keeper.

“Their keeper went for the ball, but It was a nasty collision,” said the manager of the clash late in the first half.

“Nahki’s shin and thigh also got knocked, and he was winded, but he was desperate to stay on.

“We wanted him to the start the second half, but he soon signalled that he was struggling.”

Wells was replaced by James Vaughan soon after scoring Town’s second in the 55th minute.

And Powell revealed: “He was only on the pitch because Vaughany was still getting ready to go on.

“It was great to see him get his goal, and don’t forget, he also hit the post in first-half stoppage time.”

Town are up to 12th after their win, while Charlton dropped are 16th after losing 2-0 at leaders Derby County.
