It's carry on Calum as Huddersfield Town boss Mark Robins plots another victory over Leeds.

Adam Hammill’s injury woe means Calum Woods is poised to make a second successive start in the big West Yorkshire derby at Elland Road tomorrow (3.00).

Robins was delighted with the 26-year-old’s response to his selection for Tuesday’s Championship game at Bournemouth, where he scored his first goal for the club in a 2-1 defeat.

“Calum is a player I like a lot,” said Robins of the former Liverpool and Dunfermline man.

“He can work on either side as a full-back or wing-back, he can also operate in midfield, and he can poach a goal, as he showed on Tuesday.”

Woods featured as a substitute when Town beat Leeds 3-2 at the John Smith’s in October, when Jon Stead, who has rejected a loan move to Coventry, scored the winner.

But the Scouser has had to be satisfied with 11 appearances (four starts) so far.

“Calum has been unfortunate with injuries, and when he’s been fit, others have been in the side and playing well,” added Robins.

“Now he has a chance to stake his claim, and I want to see more of what he showed on Tuesday.”

Robins, seeking his third win in as many meetings with Leeds as manager of Town, expects midfielder Adam Clayton to be available against his former club after Town’s rejection of a £1m offer from Championship rivals Brighton, who have now moved for Charlton’s Dale Stephens.
