Huddersfield Town midfielder Emyr Huws is hoping for the chance to impress at international level.

The on-loan Wigan Athletic player is in the squad for Wales’ friendly against Holland in Cardiff on Friday.

Boss Chris Coleman could ring the changes as he starts the build-up to Euro 2016.

And Llanelli-born former Manchester City man Huws, whose international career has been disrupted by injury, has his sights set on a fifth cap.

He last played for Wales in the goalless Euro qualifying draw in Belgium a year ago.

The 22-year-old also featured in the 2-1 win in Andorra in Wales’ first match on the road to next year’s finals in France.

He was called up for the final two qualifiers against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Andorra last month.

But Huws, who started out in Swansea City’s academy, failed to make the matchday squad for either game.

“It was a pity I didn’t get onto the pitch, but I was glad to get back involved in the squad,” he said.

“Obviously the European Championships are a target, but there’s a lot of work to be done prior to that.”

The Holland clash takes place at the Cardiff City Stadium.

The venue was the scene of Huws’ debuts for both Wales (against Iceland in Match 2014) and Town (in September).

He has made 11 appearances for the John Smith’s Stadium club, scoring four goals.

The last man to represent Wales while playing for Town was also a loanee, then-Swansea City defender Jazz Richards at home to Finland in November 2013.

Centre-back Joel Lynch featured in the home friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina in August 2012.
