Mark Robins wants Huddersfield Town to go for the jugular on Saturday and give Barnsley keeper Luke Steele a very busy day.
Town have scored only twice in their last five home matches in all competitions since sticking five past Yeovil in their final outing of 2013.
It’s a record the manager is keen to put right, especially with Town 14th and eager to push up the table.
Leading scorer James Vaughan is ruled out for at least another two weeks, but Nahki Wells, Danny Ward and the rest are now charged with upping the goal stakes against a Barnsley side fresh from a 1-0 home win over Millwall and with ex-Town hero Jack Hunt in their ranks on loan from Crystal Palace.
“We need to be more clinical and we need a bit more impetus in terms of getting forward,” said Robins, who welcomes Joe Lolley (shin) back to full squad training today.
“I think we pass the ball okay and we have ridiculous amounts of possession, but we need to create more excitement by finishing off the chances we are gaining.
“The last two home games have been a massive disappointment because we have conceded but we haven’t scored.
“We are creating chances but we aren’t taking them, so we’ve got to be a little bit more ruthless in and around the area.
