HUDDERSFIELD Town's Kallum Higginbotham has played at Wembley and Hampden, but it’s the Galpharm where he hopes to fulfil his ambitions.

The 22-year-old Mancunian trained with his new Town teammates for the first time today determined to press his claims for an immediate debut against MK Dons.

And the former Rochdale and Falkirk player is convinced his best career form will help manager Lee Clark and the squad achieve their aim of promotion this season.

“I’m in the most consistent form of my career at the moment and long may it continue,” he said last night, after flying back from Scotland.

“Obviously I want to get among the goals, but I get just as big a thrill from assists and the creative side is very important.

“The manager feels I can do a job for the team – I’ve been playing in the ‘hole’ for Falkirk, supporting the striker – and I genuinely believe that while I’m a much better player now than before, there is still a lot more to come from me at just 22.”

Higginbotham played at Wembley for Rochdale in the 2008 League II play-off final, when they lost 3-2 to Anthony Pilkington’s Stockport, and he was in the Falkirk team beaten by Celtic in the Scottish League Cup semis at Hampden.

He won promotion at Spotland in 2010 and played alongside Jordan Rhodes, who was loaned there.

“I have progressed a lot since then and, with this move, hopefully I can help the club go on to bigger and better things,” he added.
