NEW SIGNING Kallum Higginbotham was delighted with his first start for Huddersfield Town.

The 22-year-old slotted into Lee Clark’s side just behind striker Jordan Rhodes and produced a very busy performance.

“Kallum has done lots of good things and he is going to be a very good player,” enthused manager Clark.

The Mancunian, who signed from Scottish Division I side Falkirk on the transfer deadline, added: “The manager just told me to go out and enjoy myself and, playing in that position, it was my job to link up the midfield to Jordan.

“I have played most of my career on the wing, but that is definitely my best position and, without wanting to blow my own trumpet, I thought I did that well.

“Hopefully the gaffer will keep me there and I will be able to push on.”

And part of that development will be to strike up a partnership with leading scorer Rhodes, who Higginbotham already knows.

“I know Jordan from when he was on loan at Rochdale when I was there,” he explained.

“Even then you could see what a good finisher he was and his record speaks for itself.

“I think his goals will get us promotion.”

Another man with an eye on Rhodes at the Galpharm was Scotland manager Craig Levein, who was among the crowd of 15,898, as was Sheffield United boss Danny Wilson.
