JON WORTHINGTON is set to leave Town at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old former skipper is out of contract and has been told he won’t be offered fresh terms.

The development does not come as a surprise since Worthington has figured just twice under Lee Clark and was loaned out to Yeovil earlier this season.

Clark, who confirmed that Andy Holdsworth and Danny Cadamarteri, a target of Dundee United, have been offered new deals, said of Worthington: “He’s been a terrific servant for the club, but he will not be part of my long-term plans and I’ve already told him that.”

The academy product has made 255 Town appearances, scoring 13 goals.

German defender Dominik Werling also looks likely to be leaving.

Robbie Williams and Liverpool loanee Martin Kelly have both been preferred at left-back and Clark said: “Robbie has turned in consistent performances and Dominik’s resolve has wavered a little bit.”
