Huddersfield Town product Lloyd Allinson says he is delighted to have signed a six-month contract at Chesterfield.

The 22-year-old spent 12 years at Town, coming all the way through the age groups, and finally made his Football League debut in last season’s final match.

Allinson went on as a substitute for the injured Jed Steer after 16 minutes in the 5-1 defeat by Brentford at the John Smith’s Stadium.

He already knew it would be his last match for the club but still sent out a message saying he was “buzzing” to have made his debut and thanked all the Town fans and staff.

Allinson has featured for the Spirites in pre-season and will be hoping to be involved in the squad for their League One opener at Oxford.

The 6ft-plus stopper tweeted: Delighted to sign for @ChesterfieldFC, looking forward to what the future brings.”

Town, of course, have signed Liverpool’s Welsh international goalkeeper Danny Ward on loan for the season and he will make his debut against Brentford in the Championship opener.

David Wagner has also brought in Joel Coleman from Oldham, plus Development keepers Luke Coddington and George Dorrington.
