Chris Powell is looking for 10 top Huddersfield Town performances between now and the end of the season – starting at Birmingham on Saturday.

And as season cards for 2015-16 went on sale in the wake of a hugely disappointing 2-0 home defeat by Rotherham, the boss urged supporters: “Stick with us.”

A tickets-issued crowd of 13,342, including 1,966 travelling supporters, saw the Millers win despite the 75th-minute dismissal of skipper Lee Frecklington for two bookable offences.

Goals by Kari Arnason and Conor Sammon lifted Rotherham to 20th.

Town remain 16th, still 11 points above Wigan Athletic and Millwall and 20 above basement side Blackpool.

Powell admitted: “We are fortunate the bottom three all lost, but we certainly won’t make the mistake of thinking we are safe. Perhaps some people thought that after we beat Reading to go into the top half of the table.

“But since then we have lost to Charlton, Brentford and now Rotherham and it’s been the worst week of my time here.

“They have been three bad performances, and on Saturday, we weren’t at the races. We didn’t compete and I won’t shy away from that.

“We quite clearly didn’t get going, and while I can accept losing if we put in a performance, we didn’t do that. Now we have to prove to our fans that we can come through this spell.”
