HUDDERSFIELD Town goalscoring hero Jack Hunt paid tribute to Town’s fans for their passionate contribution to the first-leg win.

Hunt netted the second goal 17 minutes from time to cap an excellent team display – one he hopes will be repeated at home tomorrow night with similar backing from the stands.

"The fans were absolutely brilliant," said Hunt. "They totally out-sung the MK fans and it was like playing at home.

"We could hear them all the time and they gave us a fantastic boost, so I would like to thank every single one of them for giving us that support."

Hunt accepts the tie is far from over, even with a 2-0 advantage, and has urged a matching effort from fans and teammates at the Galpharm.

"No-one is going to get ahead of themselves because we know we have another big job to do at home, and it’s a matter of making sure we win our personal battles again," he said.

"MK are probably the best passing team in our league and we know they are going to have a lot of the ball, but if we execute our game plan again then I’m sure we can be celebrating continuing our momentum.

"Before the first leg we were all saying it was about winning our personal battles, because that would bring us the result as a team, and that’s what happened."

So what about the goal?

"It was just a swing!" he joked of his left-foot strike.

"It was a good build-up with me and Kallum (Higginbotham) playing a little one-two and then I just hit it – let’s leave it at that!"
