HUDDERSFIELD Town's Anthony Kay was a happy fellow after scoring the equaliser to help gain a point against a battling Yeovil Town side at Huish Park – despite picking up a nasty gash to his head during the second half.

“The injury is not that bad. It probably looked worse than it was at that time,” he said.

“I think a few scars help to make a defender look a bit harder!”

The sending off of Town defender Lee Peltier proved a pivotal moment.

“I think when you are a man down you do count on set pieces and I thought that we did well from our set pieces and put them in the right areas and luckily enough the ball landed on my head for the goal and I was able to put it into the back of the net,” said Kay.

“I think whenever you are a sub, and when you are at a club like this with all those quality players to come in and contribute, and when it’s only my second game back it is really good and I really enjoyed it.

“I think it was a good point when we had ten men.

“We sat back a bit and let them play a bit but we knew after the gaffer had spoken to us at half-time and got into us, we had to do better in the second half. I thought we did that and we could almost have nicked it at the end with some little chances.

“Every game is always going to be tough and when you are playing teams at the bottom of the league they are going to be scrapping for points and wanting to fight but we have to take each game as it comes and hopefully take all three points on Tuesday against Rochdale.”

Peltier’s dismissal meant that substitute Jack Hunt took the field earlier than he had been expecting.

“Obviously the sending off affected the game, but I don’t think Lee Peltier meant anything by it, I think he was just putting his arm out to protect himself,” said Hunt

“But unfortunately it’s one of those things that happen in football and we were down to ten men which obviously changed things for us.

“But for me it meant that I came on a lot earlier than I had expected.

“Towards the end we created a few chances and there were a few moments but we couldn’t take advantage of them, which was a pity and we couldn’t quite nick it.

“We feel if we had been able to play the entire game with 11 men we could have got all three points.

“We’ve got a tough game against Rochdale tomorrow night but if we show the spirit and determination we showed with eleven men in that game then I am sure that it won’t prove to be too big a problem for us.”
