SKIPPER Peter Clarke hailed the tireless contribution of Huddersfield Town striker Lee Novak and described him as “a very, very valuable asset”.
Novak is being nursed towards the derby clash at Barnsley having netted a double in the 2-2 draw against Blackburn, when injured loan duo James Vaughan and Jermaine Beckford missed out.

He now has 40 Town goals in just 93 starts and 55 sub appearances since arriving in 2009 and Clarke explained: “Lee Novak has been a fantastic servant over the time he has been here.
“His workrate is ridiculous – honestly second to none – and I’m thrilled he’s getting rewarded with some goals, having grabbed his fair share last season as well.
“He led the line absolutely brilliantly against Blackburn – when Alan Lee came on and made a big impact as well – and Lee Novak gets through a phenomenal amount of work and is certainly a very, very valuable asset to the club and to our team.”
