Huddersfield Town boss Mark Robins is looking forward to having James Vaughan available for Saturday’s big derby at Sheffield Wednesday but insisted: “It’s not just about one player.”

Town head to Hillsborough looking for their third win in four visits to the South Yorkshire venue and with 11-goal top scorer Vaughan back after a three-match ban.

The Sky-televised Championship clash (12.15) will be a first outing in five weeks for the 25-year-old striker, who was sent off for retaliation at Leicester on October 19.

And boss Robins insisted: “It’s good to have James back, and because of us not having any midweek games, and then the international break, it’s been a long time.

“Anyone who knows what James is like will know he’s been frustrated not to have been playing, and it’s fair to say he’s champing at the bit.

“He is desperate to do well at Hillsborough, and with the match being live on television, that only adds to his desire, but it’s important we calm expectation levels.

“We have obviously missed him, losing two of the three games he has been absent from, and James feels he has let people down by getting sent off.

“But he has nothing to prove to anyone, and we want him to come back and just play his normal game, because that is very effective.

“And let’s not forget football is a team game, and James would be the first to acknowledge how he depends on the service from his teammates.”

Vaughan notched 14 goals on loan from Norwich last season, with the move being made permanent for a £600,000 fee during the close-season.
