James Vaughan could be Huddersfield Town’s comeback kid at Hillsborough tonight.

The injury-plagued striker has been sidelined by a calf problem since mid-September.

But he is back in training and is being considered for a run-out as an overage player with the Under 21s.

The Professional Development League II North leaders visit Sheffield Wednesday (7.00).

Vaughan, 26, has been Town’s top scorer for the last two seasons, with 14 in 2012-13 and 12 last time around.

He was a £600,000 signing from Norwich City in the summer of 2013 after being on loan from the Canaries.

Town’s Under 21 team have won nine of their 13 games so far this season.

The Under 21 Premier League Cup round of 32 tie against Everton will take place at the John Smith’s Stadium on Tuesday, December 16.

Admission will be £4 adults and £2 concessions.
