HTSA are calling on Huddersfield Town fans to turn up in numbers and back the team for the Roses derby when the team travel the short distance to Bolton.
The 2,700 of the Blue and White army turned up at Fulham, HTSA are looking for an even bigger following for the Championship clash against the Trotters on Saturday, November 29.
However, there were problems at Fulham.
At the majority of grounds the away coaches are able to park close to the stadium and provide a sound reason for travelling by coach – particularly for anyone with walking difficulties – but also on the basis of cost when a train ticket has to be supplemented by a taxi or underground journey.
Some grounds, however, do require coaches to park further away and in these circumstances, with prior knowledge of the situation, HTSA has tried to facilitate arrangements for those presented with a problem. Thanks to close cooperation with Town’s police liaison officer, it has been possible to arrange suitable drop-off and pick-up points,
However, at Fulham it was particularly difficult and, although the football club had been contacted two and a half weeks before the match, no special arrangements had been put in place – despite the best efforts of HTSA and our police liaison officer.
HTSA are in the process of documenting the problems as fully as possible and have invited Fulham FC to make their own comments. We are also conferring with the Football Supporters Federation to ascertain how widespread these experiences are. If anyone has anything to contribute on this topic, either about Fulham last Saturday or, indeed, any other away games, please get in touch by email to email@example.com or by writing to HTSA, c/o Wheawill & Sudworth, PO Box B30, 35 Westgate, Huddersfield HD1 1PA.
As most fans that travel with us to away games will be aware, HTSA run a free draw competition.
However we’d like to advise that in order to claim a prize the winner of any draw can only be successful if they are a paid up member of HTSA and are actually on the coach.
Saturday’s winners were £70 R Mather, £35 H Derbyshire, £17:50 P Booth. Because none of the winners were on the coach to Fulham the first prize on the next trip will be £80.
The next trip is Bolton at the Macron Stadium on Saturday 29th November.
The price is £10 for members and £12 for non-members with departure time 12.15pm from the Stadium.
To book your seat on the coach please call or text the travel line on 07905 580784.
