HTSA hopes all our members and fellow Huddersfield Town fans have had a brilliant Christmas.
And hopefully the festive period will bring extra cheer with three points this weekend against our neighbours Sheffield Wednesday.
Starting with last Saturday’s game at Selhurst Park against an in form Crystal Palace side – who were aiming to jump into second place in the Championship.
This was an excellent point for Town which arguably should have been three if it hadn’t been for some top-class saves from Julian Speroni in the Palace goal.
Palace had Damien Delaney sent off, then Sean Scannell earned a debatable penalty which Adam Clayton missed.
Wilfried Zaha put the Eagles in front in the 38th minute with a wonder strike and it stayed that way until the 75th minute when Keith Southern’s effort evaded Speroni, who let the ball squirm through his legs.
All in all this was a much-improved Town showing.
Our next away travel is Leicester City on Tuesday, January 1 (departure time 11am). It’s £12.50 for members and £14.50 for non members. Fans can book by contacting 07926 165863
This week’s teaser question is: Which Town legend joined Sheffield Wednesday for £2.7m in 1996?
The first person to email the answer at firstname.lastname@example.org is the winner, and this will be announced on the HTSA website and in next week’s Examiner.
The answer to last week’s question (‘Town thrashed Crystal Palace by what score in 1999?) was 7-1
