IT was the goal that could well have saved Town’s season!

Danny Ward’s injury-time pile-driver (right) sent the John Smith’s home contingent wild on Tuesday night and it was no more than Town deserved.

In a rousing finale, Ward got the ball wide on the right, cut inside his marker and unleashed a hammer of a strike which gave Town a thoroughly warranted victory which moves us up to 16th place in the Championship table – and sets up this Saturday’s home match against Charlton very nicely.

HTSA is proud to support a charity-raising event alongside our counterparts in the Leeds United Supporters Trust.

Originally highlighted in The Examiner on New Year’s Day, the event will feature a number of sponsored Huddersfield and Leeds fans walking together the 12.9-mile route between the two grounds prior to the match at Elland Road on Saturday week.

Under the banner of ‘Marching on Together Against Cancer’, this will raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research, The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and for a terminally ill Leeds fan whose family has mixed allegiances to the two clubs.

HTSA Secretary, Robert Pepper, and his grandson, Edward Vickers, will be putting rivalries to one side as they March on Together, with a Smile Awhile.

For those taking a more conventional route to the match, the HTSA coach is due to leave the stadium at 10.30, priced at only £7 for members. Bookings can be made on the new travel phone number, 07905 580784, or by calling into the St Andrew’s cabin this Saturday.

In a further spirit of co-operation, HTSA is liaising with official supporters groups in Hull and with the Football Supporters Federation to try to alleviate the draconian restrictions put in place by West Yorkshire Police for the match on Easter Saturday.

We will also be reporting on any restrictions to be placed on Town fans that day, once we have a response from the police on their more detailed plans, and remain implacably opposed to the high risk category unjustifiably imposed on this fixture by West Yorkshire Police.

The first person to email the answer at competitions@htsa-online.co.uk is the winner and will be entitled to 12 months free HTSA membership, this will be announced on the HTSA website and in next weeks Examiner.

The answer to last week’s question (What score was Town’s last victory at Brighton?) was 3-2.
