ON AT least two occasions in the last month the Town Supporters Association has been made aware of fans ejected from the Stadium during a match.

The second occasion is still on-going but the first one has been raised with the authorities and a successful outcome achieved, in that the fan has received an apology for wrongful ejection, albeit only verbal so far.

However, HTSA is also happy to report that the Club has agreed to provide a free ticket to a match of his choice as some compensation.

HTSA does recognise that there are two sides to a story, particularly where ejection is for persistent standing which might impair the enjoyment of the game for those behind. We do try to represent the rights of all supporters.

In that regard, HTSA is trying to set up a general meeting with those responsible for stewarding in order to have a better understanding and two-way communication about supporters’ rights.

Watch this space, and please let us know of any incidents where there might be a legitimate grievance.

You can either write to HTSA, Wheawill & Sudworth, 35 Westgate, Huddersfield, HD1 1PA or email chair@htsa-online.co.uk.

Next week the Heavy Woollen group will be holding its usual monthly meeting and Andrew Gale is the chief guest.

When he’s not busy preparing for the cricket season, Yorkshire’s captain is an active Town fan.

As usual, the meeting starts at 8pm at Barclays Club, 189-191 North Road, Ravensthorpe, WF13 3AH.

With this, the first column in 2012, HTSA wishes all Town fans a Happy New Year!

As we said last week, let’s hope that the return of the Stadium shares can contribute to that.
