Members of our Museum Committee held a fact-finding visit to the Heritage Quay at the University of Huddersfield.

What a fantastic facility and well worth a visit from anyone who has even the slightest passing interest in the history of Huddersfield, its culture and its many

communities.

Sarah Wickham explained how the Heritage Quay had grown from its original concept to the multi-million pound archives and records facility which is now available for research and

education.

The Heritage Quay is a great benefit to the whole community but it also provides a tangible vision for anyone who is considering how to display and conserve their own collection of memorabilia.

Also, HTSA met with five representatives from Town including Club Ambassador, Andy Booth, and Chief Executive, Nigel Clibbens.

That meeting discussed the ongoing issue over QPR and Financial Fair Play.

Nigel confirmed that FL clubs wish to see the FL rule enforced. The issue has been discussed at every club meeting (with the next one scheduled for September 17).

The meeting also discussed several aspects of the use of the South Stand by the group set up as the North Stand Loyals (NSL).

The suspension (to December 31) of transfer charges to the South Stand from those stands with a lower price was acknowledged.

This was coupled with criticism of the walk-up price of £30.50 for the first home game. Nigel countered this by demonstrating that HTFC had the fifth lowest pre-paid home ticket price for the 24 Championship opening matches.

The club has to try to maximise the income by balancing attendance against price and the situation is under review.

Ten more questions were submitted to the club on topics ranging from the number of season cards sold in the South Stand to the possible use of NSL flags in the North Stand, and the answers that have been provided can be found on the HTSA website at www.htsa-online.co.uk
