HUDDERSFIELD Town Under 18s went down 1-0 to a disputed penalty as QPR were crowned Professional Development League II champions.

Last night's play-off final was decided from the spot on the stroke of half time by QPR's leading scorer Peter Skapetis, who tucked away his 13th goal of the season after Town centre-back Joe Wilkinson was adjudged to have tugged the shirt of Harly Wise.

Other than that it was a close contest at the London club's Loftus Road ground, with Ed Wilczynski making several excellent saves for Town while Jake Charles, Paul Mullin and Duane Holmes had the best of Town's chances.

Town's Professional Development Coach Frankie Bunn said: "I’ve told the players that the staff and I are immensely proud of what they have achieved this year. They’ve come a long way.

“These players keep going until the death. We’ve created a little motto in that we never give up and I think you could see that. There is a way to win and a way to lose and I thought we were very dignified in the way we met defeat."
