Danny Carr netted twice as Town Under 21s won 4-2 in their Professional Development League clash at Crewe.

Cristian Lopez and Duane Holmes were also on target for Steve Eyre’s side, which included Danny Ward, Oscar Gobern and Ian Bennett.

Holmes opened the scoring on 10 minutes when he raced onto Dale Hopson’s pass and shot home.

Crewe levelled before Spanish striker Lopez restored Town’s lead with a drive from the edge of the area after 25 minutes.

Carr, pictured, then struck twice in quick succession to give Town a 4-1 interval advantage.

Carr was denied a hat trick by a smart one-handed save before Crewe claimed a late consolation.

Striker Harry Bunn, son of Town academy coach Frankie, has joined Sheffield United on loan from Manchester City.
