Below are the Examiner Huddersfield Town reporter Doug Thomson's marks and the fans' marks are on the next page.

ALEX SMITHIES
Set the tone with smart early stops from Andrews and Eagles and made another fine penalty save. 8

PAUL DIXON
Competed gamely, but conceding the penalty and picking up a booking and a ban was a spoiler. 6

JACK HUNT
A goalline clearance from Kevin Davies and well-timed penalty-box challenge on Eagles summed him up. 8

OLIVER NORWOOD
Left out against Leeds, the midfielder returned with a spirited show and played his part in the outome. 7

ANTHONY GERRARD
The no-nonsense centre-back was a willing worker against lively opposition. Picked up his fourth caution. 7

PETER CLARKE
The captain was as fully committed as ever, but like Gerrard, won’t be happy about the two goals given away. 7

CHRIS ATKINSON
The midfielder kept his place and produced another encouraging performance,particularly in the first half. 7

ADAM CLAYTON
Busy – and effective – from the first minute to the last. Created Town attacks and broke up Bolton’s. 8

LEE NOVAK
The energetic striker covered the turf as part of a frontline three. Hit the bar with Town one up. Booked. 7

JAMES VAUGHAN
Marked his first full game in nine with a great late equaliser, but is now on four cautions for the season. 7

SIMON CHURCH
Coach Glynn Snodin said there was more to come from him – and he produced a decent display in this game. 7

Substitutes:
Sean Scannell (for Church, 75mins) 6;
Alan Lee (for Novak, 81) 7;
Danny Ward (for Atkinson, 81) 6;

Below are fan match reports:

Once again we waited to long to go up a gear, we must start coming out of the blocks sooner. We also seem to give the opponents too much respect. Dave, Golcar

Saved by Smithies; could have been game over in the first 10 mins. Outplayed in midfield, Atkinson out of his depth at this level. Sadly missed southern. Howard, Shelley

Excellent game, lots of entertainment. Alex showed what a good keeper he is. Good point that could have been three if bolton keeper had not made a superb save from Vaughan at the death. Well done to the team. Much improved performance. Trevor, Horbury

Alan Lee - Game changer once again! Super sub! James, Armitage Bridge

Great game to watch, we'll get used to this league this season so next we can try for play offs. Steve, Netherton

Alan Lee & Jack Hunt were definetly men of the match! Needed to work better in midfield, overall good effort from Town especially in last 15mins or so :) Laura, Huddersfield

If we could only manage to play for more than half a game. The result was fair but how did the officials give a corner just before their goal, it was clearly a dead ball, but let's hope we have had our bad run and now get back to winning ways. David, Mirfield

Lee and Vaughan front two. Offload Church. Graham, Holmfirth

Not a bad game and a draw was the right result. Church and Dixon need dropping from the squad if we hope to have any chance in the next fortnight. Brian, Brighouse

Again, we are second best with our passing game and could have been well beaten if not for Smithies. We need to bring in some class players in January. A battling performance nontheless and nearly won it at the end with Vaughan. If we had players of his class throughout the team, we would be top of this league. Stephen, Tenerife

Again the opposition slowed or stopped the play by faking injury when we we were on top. I don't like it be we need to wise up to these tatics when the oppositon are on top like Bolton was in the second half. The team was more balanced with the retun of Vaughan lets hope we can keep him fit over Christmas. Jonty, Waterloo

Clayton and Vaughan are continually showing great ability and putting on performances significantly above Championship level. Martin, Outlane

Smithies; zero to hero in 7 days. Vaughan - RVP would have been proud of that one! Jas, Holmfirth

Fair result in the end, could easily have been 2 down after 10mins, but could and should have been 2 up at halftime. Must remember they have a quality team. Ref let the game flow. Can't wait until we put out a full strength team. Bob Farrell, Barnet

Great game to watch if not the result we wanted. Concerned that teams can come to Town and and pass it around freely and have long periods of possession. This is our patch and we should be dictating the game. Hope this comes in time and with experience. At times we look a bit League 1-ish still. Northern Dancer, Lepton

Much better than last week but we are still standing off far too much and we are getting punished for it we must close players down better and push forward more. Church is a complete waste of space send him back ASAP Tony, Liversedge

Pretty good allround performance from all except Simon Church. I have no idea what Simon Grayshon sees in this guy. Graham, Brighouse

Much better after last week's disgrace. They looked like they wanted to earn something this week. Tony, Golcar

Town took a fortunate lead, and then were indebted to Smithies for a couple of smart saves, but were then unlucky not to go in at half-time two up following Novak's miss from a tight angle. Bolton improved in the second half and showed glimpses of class - Davies was a real handful for both centre-backs. A great penalty save by Smithies kept Town in it and big Alan Lee did what he does best - laying the ball off for Vaughan to show his undoubted finishing class. A good point against a good side. Rob, Lindley

Unfortunately the only two decent finishers we've got at the club are usually injured. Andrew, Quarmby

Back to True Grit, a fine performance and riveting game, end to end stuff and we could have nicked it at the end. Vaughan outstanding and shows how important he is to us and to keep him fit. A great advert for Championship football and Alan Lee showing what a clever player front man he is. Nothing to fear in this league if we play like this. Trojanhorse, Kirkburton
