DESPITE their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy setback at Carlisle, Town are odds-on favourites to continue a three-match winning streak that has taken them to second in League I when they host Colchester tomorrow.

Lee Clark’s side are 4/5 with Betfred to get the better of Betdaq’s 5.0 (4/1) outsiders at the Galpharm, with Victor Chandler posting 14/5 against the draw.

In the reverse fixture in Essex in October, Town struck three times without reply.

And they’re 14/1 courtesy of Coral to repeat the feat in this one.

However the U’s seem to be a tougher opponent now and perhaps a more realistic result is another 2-1 home win (7/1, Ladbrokes), like the one chalked up last season.

In both matches, Town were ahead at the end of each half and they’re 2/1 with 888Sport to be in that position again while bet365 quote odds of 11/4 for them to shade it by a one-goal margin.

As Clark’s troops have kept just one clean sheet in 10 in the league, Totesport’s 3/4 for both teams to score and Stan James’ 4/6 marked against a match total of more than 2.5 goals catch the eye.

The first of those strikes is 5/1 (William Hill) to come from Lee Novak, who broke the deadlock in the pair’s last meeting.

Paddy Power, meanwhile, offer 17/10 for the referee to award a penalty and Partybets combine a home win with a total of at least three goals at the same price.
