Martin Paterson is confident he can continue his Huddersfield Town goal glut – regardless of who he is playing alongside.

Manager Mark Robins could hand 12-goal top scorer James Vaughan a comeback against Millwall tomorrow if he passes a test on the knee injury which has kept him out of four games.

Meanwhile Town are among those being linked with Joe Lolley, a 21-year-old striker who has caught the eye for Kidderminster this season.

Robins’ priority is his side’s latest Championship clash against Millwall, who are fourth-bottom but have been lifted by the arrival of Ian Holloway as manager.

And Paterson has pledged to do all he can to add to a scoring sequence which now stands at five goals in the last four games.

“I’m pleased with the way things have gone, but there are still more to come,” said the 26-year-old, whose side are 13th.

“I have put in a lot of hard work on the training field, and I have gone on a little run, but I know I have to keep it going.”

Paterson has blossomed since returning to the squad after being dropped in the wake of a training-ground spat with teammate Adam Clayton.

“I went away to Turkey on Northern Ireland duty, and myself and the manager had a good chat,” revealed the summer signing from Burnley.

“We agreed I would come back to the club, get my head down and go really hard to try to kick on, and I have made some progress.

“I’m not thinking about wavering or counting up the goals.

“I want to carry on in the same vein and keep my place right through to the end of the season, then assess how things have gone.”
