IT WAS a night of mixed emotions for Huddersfield Town.
A solid win for Town plus a loss for Bournemouth mean the men in blue and white moved nearer to an automatic promotion slot.
Below are Examiner HTAFC reporter Doug Thomson's match ratings for Tuesday night.
Plus you can check out other divisons such as the Chapionship as well as European competition.
ALEX SMITHIES
With Ian Bennett injured, featured for the first time in 13 games and made a string of telling saves. 8
STEPHEN JORDAN
A no-nonsense defensive performance from the Sheffield United loan left-back who also got forward well. 7
JACK HUNT
Back in the starting side after two games on the bench, the young right-back produced a solid show. 7
ANTONY KAY
Again looked solid in the centre of defence before being forced off with an ankle injury after 43 minutes. 7
PETER CLARKE
Got on with things as efficiently as ever, contributing key tackles and clearances throughout the contest. 7
KEVIN KILBANE
Made some telling touches and used his experience as Town worked hard to win the midfield battle. 7
ANTHONY PILKINGTON
Full of running until injury cruelly cut short his evening and most probably, his season. 7
SCOTT ARFIELD
Like Kilbane, he covered a lot of ground as Town more than matched their opponents in the engine-room area. 7
JORDAN RHODES
Handed only a second start since returning from injury and worked hard at both ends of the pitch. 7
BENIK AFOBE
Took his starting opportunity with real hunger and it was great to see him slot the first league goal of his career. 8
GARY ROBERTS
Troubled Rochdale from the off, providing the assist for Town’s opener and scoring the second with real skill. 8
