SHEFFIELD United loanee Matt Hill is hoping to make it fifth time lucky at Wembley.

Blackpool’s former Bristol City, Preston, Wolves, QPR and Barnsley defender, who has made 14 appearances for the Blades, has twice being on the losing side in both the semi-finals and the final.

"It will be my first time in a final at Wembley after two at the Millennium Stadium, so hopefully that will be a good omen and third time lucky for me,” he said.

DANNY WILSON has hailed Chris Porter as Sheffield United continue the countdown to Saturday’s big clash with Town.

The 28-year-old, signed from Derby in the close-season, scored the goal which took the Blades to Wembley courtesy of a 1-0 aggregate win over Stevenage in the play-off semi-finals.

Ex-Bury, Oldham and Motherwell man Porter has been a peripheral figure at times this season, but with Ched Evans jailed, James Beattie suspended and Richard Cresswell injured, came to the fore against Stevenage.

“To get a goal of that magnitude to take us to Wembley was a huge boost for him,” said manager Wilson.

“I think the supporters will start to take to him now, not just for the goal but for his performance as well.

“Chris has taken his opportunity well.”

Town manager Simon Grayson knows all about the Irish midfielder Michael Doyle, who likes Blades defender Neil Collins, played under him at Leeds.

The tough-tackling 30-year-old started out at Celtic, who sold him to Coventry in 2003.

After a season-long loan at Leeds, he joined United last year.
