HERE are the ratings from Huddersfield Town's defeat to Watford.

Below are the ratings from Examiner reporter Doug Thomson.

The fans' ratings are on page two and fan reports on page three.

ALEX SMITHIES
Conceding three goals was tough on the stopper, who foiled Watford on several other occasions. 7

PAUL DIXON
Caught out a couple of times but worked hard to get the tackles in and tried to push forward when possible. 6

JACK HUNT
Played some neat passes but like many of the team, struggled to impose himself on this game. 6

ANTHONY GERRARD
Made many tackles, blocks and clearing headers so will have been as frustrated as anyone by the final score. 6

PETER CLARKE
There were a couple of slip-ups by the skipper but he also made some telling interventions 6

ADAM CLAYTON
Like the Town team as a whole, while the effort was there, the usual tempo and control was absent. 6

KEITH SOUTHERN
Tried his best, but Watford’s ability to vary tactics and formation made it a tough day for the home midfielders. 6

OLIVER NORWOOD
Was always busy and while keeper Almunia might have done better, got his third goal in as many games. 7

JERMAINE BECKFORD
Made a full debut less than 24 hours after arriving on loan from Leicester and showed glimpses of his ability. 6

LEE NOVAK
Yet another industrious display by the striker, who set up Lee’s headed leveller and came close to a goal himself. 7

DANNY WARD
Produced some good deliveries, but the concession of the penalty will certainly have spoiled his night. 6

Substitutes:
Sean Scannell (for Clayton, 71mins) 6;
Scott Arfield (for Norwood, 78) 6;

Here's a selection of fans' reports on the game - go to the next page for more

Town did not press the ball when out of possession, & often gave it away cheaply. Thus, could not gain any momentum.

Did not get going. Fair play to Watford they had done their homework nullified Jack Hunt and we missed James Vaughan

They looked tired!

Town didn’t play their best this weekend, however there were some unfair decisions given by the ref against them

I thought town gave the ball away a lot throughout the match. Watford had too much space on the overlap on Town's right had side. I think Town were passing at a low tempo I think we could do with more quality at the centre of the defence

Slack one on one marking, playing far to deep(yet again) and allowing opposition too long on ball without either approaching them or tackling them! Looked very scared!

Mystified why they water the pitch before the game after the amount of rain we have had in the last week. Players struggled to control the ball never mind their feet.

Beckford obviously not match fit. Should have been substituted earlier

I felt we were bullied and looked jaded after Monday night's hard slog on a very wet pitch. But let's not panic.

Probably worst performance of the season so far.

Good first half second as usual at home below par

We lacked someone to hold up the ball up front. Watford had the 3 best players on the pitch though

Beckford waste of space!

Missed Vaughan - Beckford no substitute in any way. Midfield outrun and out passed for the first time but deserved a draw but that's Italians for you!

The same old humping balls forward without control. We know the midfield can run with ball but were out of steam yesterday. Smithies should come out and take charge of the goal area

What a dreadful display. Again, Town take the foot off the pedal when it matters. They thought they had only to turn up to win. Very disappointing.

Midfield not effective.

Brawn overcame brains in this game. They were more "up for it" than some of our players.

Norwood best player Town signed for years

By far Town's worst performance so far. Lacked urgency; the players looked 'leggy' and gave possession away far too easily.

Town played as if they were suffering from battle-fatigue. I think Zola's men will surprise a few more teams now he's got them working together.

Thought Novak played well, and Dixon, Gerrard, Norwood and Clayton - Hunt had a poor game made poor decisions all game - Town seemed to lack ideas in last third and when Novak did get the ball in that area lacked support until Lee came on - worst performance so far

A bad day at the office, however Watford deserve to be nominated for an Oscar at the least, I thought diving was just in the Olympics!

Town never really got into gear and were missing the energy of James Vaughan in attack.

Brought down to earth by a good footballing side who also brought their Italian ways of diving & trying to cheat and were let to get away with it. Referees will have to sort them out and quickly. Lets hope we can bounce back on Tuesday.

Disapointing following Monday's game. Overall midfield game was sloppy and Watford's attack took about 50 mins to open us at the back flanks

Lethargic today, Gerrard disappointing, didn't know what to do with the ball. Ward best player by far. Beckford rusty and needs time to gel with the team. Need try harder on Tuesday.

Midfield were a little afraid today. Didn't seem to want to put their stamp on the game. A dip in form cost us today. We lost momentum.
